About This Event
There are certain evenings that stay with you long after the lights dim and the last handshake is exchanged — and the Paklaunch (PL) London Meetup on 9th June 2026 at Mayfair’s iconic 12 Hay Hill was exactly that kind of evening for me. Held during London Tech Week, one of the world’s most influential gatherings for innovators, investors, and enterprise leaders, this meetup brought together a rare and powerful mix of Pakistani and global talent under one roof — and I couldn’t be more grateful to have been part of it.
A Community Eight Years in the Making
For those unfamiliar, Paklaunch (PL) has become one of the most dynamic platforms driving Pakistan’s entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem forward. What began in 2020 as a small WhatsApp group has since grown into a global community connecting founders, investors, and professionals with the shared ambition of positioning Pakistan among the world’s leading tech ecosystems. Events like this London meetup are a testament to that vision — not just a networking mixer, but a genuine platform where ideas are exchanged, partnerships are formed, and Pakistan’s growing tech and business talent gets the international stage it deserves.
Being part of London Tech Week added another layer of significance to the evening. With the city buzzing with founders, VCs, policymakers, and enterprise leaders from around the globe, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect for Paklaunch to host its own gathering — carving out space for the Pakistani diaspora and its allies to make meaningful connections amid the wider tech week energy.
The Room: A Blend of Founders, Investors, and Innovators
Walking into 12 Hay Hill, you could immediately sense the caliber of people in the room. This wasn’t just another networking event — it was a curated gathering of some of the sharpest minds spanning finance, media, technology, and public life.
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who made this evening as inspiring as it was — starting with the incredible team behind Paklaunch (PL) for pulling together such a thoughtfully organized event, and to Saarey, Cindrigo Holdings Limited, and Minute Marketing for their support in making the evening possible.
A special thank you goes out to the distinguished speakers and guests who shared their time, insight, and energy throughout the night. Aly Fahd, the founder and driving force behind Paklaunch, once again demonstrated why he’s become such a respected figure in the Pakistani entrepreneurial space — his ability to bring people together across continents and industries is genuinely remarkable. It was also a privilege to be in the presence of Baroness Nosheena Mobarik, whose contributions to public life and advocacy for the Pakistani community in the UK are widely respected.
Conversations with Uzair Gadit and Sameer Chishty offered valuable perspective on where the region’s startup and investment landscape is headed, while Momin Saqib brought his signature energy and candor to the discussions — always engaging, always thought-provoking. It was equally great catching up with Faraan Irfan and Chirantan Patnaik, both of whom offered fascinating insights from their respective corners of the industry.
I also had the pleasure of connecting with Syed Sajawal Jalal Chishty, Muhammad Hozaifa Ejaz, Zain Ul Abadeen, and Kheezran Khan — each bringing their own unique energy and expertise to the conversations that unfolded throughout the evening. And of course, a warm thank you to Sarah S. and everyone else who contributed to making the night one to remember.

More Than Just Networking
What struck me most about the evening wasn’t just the quality of the guest list — it was the substance of the conversations happening in every corner of the room. This wasn’t superficial small talk; these were genuine discussions about scaling businesses, navigating cross-border investment, building brand trust in emerging markets, and the practical challenges founders face when trying to compete on a global stage while staying rooted in their home markets.
There’s something powerful about being in a room where everyone understands the specific challenges of building in and for Pakistan, while simultaneously operating within a global context. The Paklaunch community has cultivated exactly that kind of environment — one where ambition meets pragmatism, and where relationships formed over a single evening can turn into partnerships, investments, or collaborations that unfold over years.
As someone working in the digital and marketing space through About Digital, evenings like this are invaluable. They’re a reminder that the work we do — building brands, telling stories, and helping businesses grow — doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens within an ecosystem, and ecosystems thrive when the people within them show up, connect, and support one another’s journeys.
Why Events Like This Matter
London Tech Week has grown into one of Europe’s most significant technology gatherings, drawing tens of thousands of attendees from across the globe each year. For a community like Paklaunch to carve out its own dedicated space within that broader event says a lot about how far the Pakistani tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem has come — and how much further it’s positioned to go.
It’s easy to underestimate the value of in-person gatherings in an increasingly digital-first world, but nights like this prove otherwise. The energy in that room, the spontaneous introductions, the follow-up conversations that will undoubtedly happen over the coming weeks — none of that would have unfolded the same way over a video call or a LinkedIn message. There’s a reason communities like Paklaunch continue to invest in physical meetups: because trust, rapport, and long-term partnerships are still built face-to-face.
Looking Ahead
Evenings like this leave you energized — not just because of who you met, but because of what it represents. Pakistan’s startup and investment ecosystem is still young by global standards, but the ambition, talent, and drive on display at this meetup made it clear that the trajectory is only heading upward. Communities like Paklaunch are playing a crucial role in accelerating that growth, connecting founders with capital, mentorship, and — perhaps most importantly — with each other.
I left 12 Hay Hill that evening with new contacts, new perspectives, and a renewed sense of optimism about what’s possible when a community rallies around a shared vision. Whether it’s through supporting founders as they scale, helping investors identify promising opportunities, or simply creating spaces where people can be inspired by one another’s stories, events like the Paklaunch London Meetup are exactly the kind of initiative that moves an ecosystem forward.
To everyone who attended, spoke, organized, or simply showed up to be part of the conversation — thank you. Here’s to more evenings like this, more collaboration across borders, and to continuing to build something meaningful together.
