About This Event

Founder and CEO: Muhammad Salman Nasir is attending the CEATEC 2026 in Japan 🇯🇵, exploring the latest innovations in technology, AI, and digital transformation while connecting with global industry leaders and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. Some events are worth reading about, and some are worth being present for. This is the second kind.

What Is CEATEC?

CEATEC stands for Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies. It is one of Japan’s largest comprehensive exhibitions of digital innovation, held every October, and 2026 marks its 27th edition. The event traces its history back to 1962, so it has watched, and helped shape, decades of technological change, from early consumer electronics to today’s AI-driven world.

This year’s edition runs from October 13 to 16, 2026, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, right next to Tokyo. It is organized by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), and admission is free for registered visitors. That openness is part of what makes CEATEC special: startups, researchers, enterprises, and policymakers all share the same space.

The 2026 Theme: “Transformation”

The theme this year is “Transformation: Where Companies, Industries, and Society Evolve.” The organizers describe CEATEC as more than a place to showcase advanced technology. Its aim is to increase the value of transformation and accelerate real-world implementation across society.

That idea matches what I see in my own work. Technology alone does not change anything. Change happens when people, processes, and ideas move together. An AI model, a device, or a platform only becomes valuable when it solves a real problem for real people, and walking through the halls here, that message is everywhere.

“Innovation for All”

CEATEC’s slogan, “Innovation for All,” stands out to me. The show aims to resolve social issues and drive economic development at the same time, using digital technology to build a sustainable future. Its pillars are providing a place where innovation can take off, suggesting a future vision to society, and connecting industries, sectors, and borders.

That last pillar matters to me as a participant from Pakistan. Innovation does not belong to one country or one region. When ideas cross borders, they become sharper, more inclusive, and more useful, and the global tech conversation is stronger when more voices are part of it.

Scale and Global Reach

CEATEC is not a small gathering. The 2025 edition featured 810 exhibitors and organizations, and past editions have drawn exhibitors from more than 40 countries and regions. Being here, you see the whole technology ecosystem at once: AI and software, electronic components, semiconductors, IoT, robotics, mobility, and smart-city solutions.

This year the show is also held alongside Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2026, which brings the digital and mobility industries closer together. That combination reflects where the world is heading. Cars, cities, devices, and data are no longer separate conversations. They are converging into one connected landscape.

Why AI and Digital Transformation Matter Now

Three ideas guide what I’m watching closely at CEATEC.

1. AI is moving from experiments to infrastructure. A few years ago, AI was something companies tested in pilot projects. Today it is becoming part of how businesses operate, from customer service to logistics to product design. The question has shifted from “Can we use AI?” to “How do we use it responsibly, reliably, and at scale?”

2. Hardware and software are merging. Japan’s strength in precision engineering, components, and semiconductors, combined with modern AI and software platforms, is a powerful combination. Great digital transformation needs both smart code and solid engineering.

3. Technology must serve society. From aging populations to sustainability challenges, many problems Japan faces are shared by countries around the world. Solutions developed here can inspire approaches in emerging economies like mine.

The Value of Connection

Exhibitions are often described by their products, but their real value is in the people. Between the booths, conference sessions, and informal conversations, I’m meeting founders, engineers, researchers, and business leaders who look at the same problems from very different angles. Some of the best insights come from a ten-minute conversation, not a keynote.

I came to CEATEC with a simple goal: to learn, to listen, and to explore opportunities for collaboration. I believe partnerships between Pakistan and Japan have real potential, particularly in IT services, AI talent, and digital solutions. Japan brings deep expertise in engineering and quality. Pakistan brings a young, ambitious, and fast-growing tech community. Together, that can be a strong combination.

Key Takeaways So Far

  • Think long-term. Japan’s approach to technology values patience, quality, and sustained improvement over short-term hype.
  • Collaborate across industries. The most interesting innovations happen where fields meet, such as AI and mobility, or data and healthcare.
  • Show up in person. Being in the room changes your perspective in ways that reading about an event never can.

Final Thoughts

CEATEC 2026 is a reminder that transformation is not a single event or a single technology. It is a continuous process driven by curiosity, collaboration, and the courage to try new things. I’m grateful to be part of this global conversation in Japan, and I look forward to bringing ideas, connections, and inspiration back to my community in Pakistan.
